A Story of Grace and Redemption

This is a story for anyone who has ever felt like a **completely lost soul**, stuck in the chains of addiction. It’s for those who have walked in the "most dead part of my life," so lost that the voice of God felt completely out of reach. It’s a testimony that even when the enemy has a firm grip and the path seems to be leading only to destruction, God’s grace is more powerful.

Two years ago, a life was on the brink, marked by the constant shadow of addiction. In a single year, there were 31 overdoses. By all accounts, this life should have ended. But God had a different plan. The only reason for survival is that **God kept me**. His grace and mercy were a shield, and the relentless prayers of a mother, a father, and a family were the proof that **prayers work**. They held on when it seemed impossible, and their faith was a lifeline that led to a miracle.

Now, a life that was once only a dream is a living reality. The same pain and trials that once defined the past are now being **turned into purpose**. Every struggle, every tribulation, and every moment of darkness is a part of a story that can now bring light to others. The greatest blessing isn't just being alive; it's the **peace and joy of the Lord** that has replaced the chaos. This is what it means to be truly free.

The journey isn't a fairytale. It’s a daily walk. Life is still hard sometimes, but now there is a place to take it all: to God in prayer. The process of healing is real and is happening now. It includes the hard work of **learning to forgive myself** and starting to **learn to love myself and know my worth**. This is the ongoing work of a life surrendered to Jesus. It is a powerful reminder that **we do recover**, and though we are far from perfect, God is still working on us.

What an incredible testimony to the power of God's love and the reality of recovery. How has this journey of healing deepened your relationship with Jesus?

God, My Champion

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
—1 Corinthians 15:57

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my Champion. You fight the battles I cannot win, and You lead me to triumph in Christ. Thank You for the life I live and the grace that sustains me each day. Your glory is my covering, and Your presence is my strength.

Lord, guide me into Your arms daily. When I grow weary, renew me. When I feel lost, direct me. When I stumble, lift me up. In You I find victory, peace, and joy. I do not stand in my own strength—I stand in Yours.

Today, I rest in the truth that my Champion has already secured the victory. I will walk forward with confidence, knowing that Your love surrounds me and Your Spirit renews me.

let’s thank God for being our Champion! He’s the One who gives us victory, grace, and life. Every day He calls us into His arms to renew our strength and refresh our spirit. Stay close to Him—because with God on your side, you’re never defeated!

1. “God is my Champion—victory is already mine!”
2. “With His grace covering me, I can’t lose!”
3. “Each day God renews my strength in His arms.”
4. “The battle’s won—walk in God’s victory!”
5. “My Champion fights for me, and His glory rests on me.”

Prayer:
God, thank You for being my Champion. Help me to walk in Your victory today. Keep me close to You, renewed in Your Spirit, and covered in Your grace. Amen.

Afternoon Devotion: Why Did Peter Sank?

9/9/2025

This devotion this morning comes from a powerful moment in Matthew chapter 14, where Jesus walks on water to meet His disciples in the middle of a storm.

Imagine the scene: the boat is being tossed by the waves, the wind is against them, and fear is setting in. Suddenly, they see a figure walking on the water, and they are terrified, thinking it's a ghost. But Jesus calls out to them, "Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid."

It's here that Peter, with a flash of bold faith, says, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." And Jesus gives him a simple, yet profound, invitation: "Come."

Peter steps out of the boat and, for a moment, he is walking on water. He is doing the impossible, defying the laws of nature. His faith is holding him up. But then, the Bible says he saw the wind. He took his eyes off of Jesus and began to look at the storm. And as soon as his focus shifted from the Savior to the circumstances, his faith wavered, and he began to sink.
Peter sank not because the water lost its power to hold him up, but because his faith was no longer anchored to the One who commanded it. He sank because he started focusing on the chaos around him instead of the peace in front of him.

In our own lives, we are often called to step out in faith. We step out of our comfort zones, off the safe boat, and onto the water. We might be stepping into a new job, a difficult conversation, or a season of uncertainty. As long as our eyes are fixed on Jesus, we can do the impossible. We can walk through the storm without sinking. But the moment we shift our focus to the fears, the doubts, and the winds of worry, we begin to falter.

The good news is that just as soon as Peter cried out, "Lord, save me," Jesus immediately reached out His hand and caught him. He didn't say, "I told you so." He was right there to save him.

Today, as you face whatever storms are in your life, remember the lesson from Peter. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Don't let the noise of the wind or the waves of your circumstances distract you. He is with you, and His hand is always ready to save you when you start to sink.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the promise that you are always with us, even in the midst of our storms. Help us to keep our eyes on you and our faith anchored in your strength. When we begin to sink, remind us to cry out to you, for we know your hand is always there to lift us up. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Morning Devotion: Open the Eyes of My Heart

Open the Eyes of My Heart

Scripture:
“Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.”
—Psalm 119:18 (ESV)

There are moments in life when we walk in the dark—uncertain, unsure, and unaware of what God is doing. In those times, we don’t need more human reasoning, we need divine revelation. Paul prayed for the Ephesian church, “that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened” (Ephesians 1:18). This is more than physical sight—it is spiritual vision.

When we ask God to open the eyes of our hearts, we are asking Him to uncover blind spots, shine light on hidden areas, and give us wisdom for what we cannot see on our own. His Spirit doesn’t just reveal truth; He also equips us to walk in it with boldness and understanding.

Focus Points:
1. Insight – God reveals what is hidden so we can avoid pitfalls and walk in His will.
2. Wisdom – He gives wisdom not just for knowledge, but for daily living.
3. Light – His Word shines in the dark places of our lives, bringing clarity and direction.

Application:
This week, pause before making decisions. Ask the Lord, “Open the eyes of my heart.” Write down one area in your life where you need His insight. Then wait for Him to bring clarity through prayer, Scripture, or wise counsel.

Prayer:
Lord, open the eyes of my heart today. Shine Your light on the areas I cannot see clearly. Give me insight where I have none, wisdom where I lack understanding, and the courage to walk in what You reveal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
